1st State Waterproofing is a reputable waterproofing company having been in the business for the past 30 years. Vitold Tussey started the business and served Delaware for the past 30 years helping many home owners get their basements and crawlspaces dry. Now after many years of hard labor he has passed on the business to his daughter Hannah Tussey and son-in-law Aaron Johnson to carry on all his hard work. Hannah and Aaron spent their first 3 years working under Vitold’s supervision. Aaron was always a quick learner and having 7 years prior of construction work under his belt it was no time before he was ready to be handed the ropes. Now Aaron is the co-owner and lead Forman. You will see him on estimates, and leading every job. Hannah is happy to be out of the basements and answering phone calls and emails to set up appointments. We are a small family owned business that are happy to help with any water problems or future construction projects you may have!

Last summer, my basement flooded when water came through my crawl space in a very bad storm. I was overwhelmed as I was sitting in the basement at the time trying to avoid a tornado! I had two feet of water in my basement and many things destroyed. Aaron and First State saved the day for me! They pumped out the water and they emptied the basement of debris as quickly as they could as I was afraid of mold. Then, they installed a new French Drain in my basement once they removed the old, clogged French drain along with a sump pump. They also installed another French drain and sump pump in the crawlspace that had flooded. A lot of hard work and dedicated service. I would absolutely recommend. They are honest and hard working.Would recommend? Yes
